present day Ole Czech Bakery, in 1963 moved to current location.
Ernest Uptmore came back from World War II with malaria
and almost died. Doctor told him to get a job so he could get out
of the weather if he needed to. With a shortage of cars after the
wars, he decided to go in to the car business buying cars from
Detroit and bringing them back to West.
